Happy Halloween

It's finally here! The day my kids have been looking forward to for weeks! My son cannot wait to put on his Green Lantern costume tonight! My daughter is only 16 months old, so she doesn't really know what's going on. She's going to be a lady bug again this year, thanks to a great $4 thrift store find! Woot Woot - gotta love a sale! The only thing that is a negative about today is that it's going to be POURING down rain for trick or treat :(

^^^not my kid but that is his costume!

Well guess what? We're getting wet! My kids are totally worth it.

Now, starting tonight at 8 pm, my self control is REALLY going to be tested. See, there's gonna be JUNK, and lots of it, in my house. I don't WANT to eat it. I'm going to try to keep it out of my sight. But I just have zero self control.

So, I have Shakeology recipes all planned out to combat my cravings. First, there's an extra Shakeology Shake - Chocolate Peanut Butter Chunk. Another favorite are my Shakeology Peanut Butter Cups. I might try to make some of those before Trick or Treat. And, of course, there's always my old faithful, No Bake Shakeology Balls.

See, its all about coming up with a plan for tricky situations. It's not about depriving myself. I mean, I don't really NEED that candy. I've been conditioned to think I need it. Do you know how much bad stuff is really in candy? I'm not going into that right now. That's a whole other blog post!

Before I finish getting myself and my kids ready for trick or treat tonight, I'm going to leave you with all the recipes from above. I will eventually turn them all into their own blog posts, but I want to share now :)

Happy Halloween Everyone!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Chunk Shakeology is like ^^^ that in a cup!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Chunk Shakeology

Ingredients:
  • 1 scoop chocolate shakeology
  • 4 oz unsweetened almond milk
  • 4 oz dark chocolate almond milk
  • 1 square of Dark Chocolate
  • 1 to 2 Tbsp of all natural Peanut Butter (amount depending on my calorie load for the day)
  • ice to taste
Directions:
  1. Combine all ingredients in blender.
  2. Blend.
  3. Try to avoid brain freeze from drinking it so fast!

Shakeology Peanut Butter Cups:

Ingredients:
  • 4 Tbsp Chocolate Shakeology
  • 2 Tbsp unrefined organic coconut oil
  • 4 Tbsp chocolate PB2 (regular PB2 would work too)
  • 2 Tbsp water
  • 3 mini cupcake foils
Directions:
  1. Place coconut oil into a small microwaveable bowl.
  2. Microwave in increments of 10 seconds until the oil is in liquid form.
  3. Add Chocolate Shakeology to the coconut oil. Mix well.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the PB2 and the water. Mix well.
  5. If the PB2 is too thin, add more PB2. If it's too thick, add a *smidge* more water.
  6. Spoon approx. 1 tsp of the Shakeology mixture into each cupcake foil (3 of them).
  7. Top that with 1 tsp of the PB2 mixture.
  8. Use the rest of the Shakeology mixture to cover the PB2 in each foil.
  9. Place in the freezer for 5-10 minutes, or until they are solidified.
  10. EAT and ENJOY!

October 2013 Challenge Donation Deal

I lost my Grandma Kelly (my mom's mom) to Breast Cancer in 1994. She was only 65 years old. In my book, that's WAY too young. It's only 3 years older than MY mom is right now!

I've been thinking about a way I can honor my Grandma's memory while helping others become the best version of themselves. I was STUCK for a long time.

Then it came to me.

Last night I was driving to my mom's house for a visit and I it literally hit me like a ton of bricks.

For every new customer that purchases an Challenge Pack or orders Shakeology on Home Direct between right now and 11:59pm on Oct. 31st, I will be donating 100% of my commission to the Susan G. Komen fund.

Yup. You read that right. Every single dollar that would go into my bank account is going to go to Breast Cancer.

The catch is that you have to be a NEW customer and you have to be MY customer. If you want to take advantage of this offer, go to www.beachbodycoach.com/klevere623 and sign up for a free account. Then, talk to me about what challenge pack or Shakeology flavor you would like to purchase. Together, we will find the one that is right for you.

Together, let's make a different. Every dollar counts. You count. Reduce your risk of diseases by taking care of yourself today!

Apple Pie Shakeology

Yeah. I'm on a fall kick. The weather is getting cooler. There's Friday night football games and MARCHING BAND every week. The leaves are changing. I'm wearing my brown boots today.

Yes sir. I believe it's FINALLY fall. :)

With fall comes lots of fun recipes and staples. Pumpkin Pie. Apple Pie. Pumpkin Spice Lattes. Warm soup. S'mores by the fire.

I'm not gonna lie. Fall is hard on me. I WANT to eat all the yummy food. I ENJOY all the yummy food. The problem is that my body doesn't like the unclean food.

So, I do what I can to make versions of the fall foods I love. That has been a LOT easier since Beachbody came out with Vanilla Shakeology this past summer. The vanilla flavor takes on whatever you add to it, so coming up with new recipes has been fun!

I decided to do an Apple Pie recipe this morning and HELLO! It was delish! Too good to leave buried in an old blog post. This sucker deserves its own post!

If you are interested in trying Vanilla Shakeology, click on the picture below, comment on this blog post, or find me on fb @ www.facebook.com/klevere623 (like page) or www.facebook.com/kelly.elizabeth.71271 (personal page)

Ingredients:

  • 1 scoop/packet Vanilla Shakeology
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened apple sauce
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp crushed walnuts or pecans (optional)
  • ice to taste
  • add water or more almond milk if desired.
Directions:
  1. Place all ingredients into a blender.
  2. Blend.
  3. Try not to drink it too fast!
  4. You can change up the thickness/consistency by adding more or less ice, almond milk, and/or water.
Play around with the recipe a little. If you find you like a different version better, please let me know! I'm always looking for new ideas!

Pumpkin Pie Shakeology

Seriously. It's October 16th already. How did that happen???

We are well into the fall season here in Western PA. Fall always equals pumpkin EVERYTHING. Normally I would be headed straight to Starbucks or Dunkin' Donuts for a Pumpkin Spice Latte. Not this fall! I've got something even better!

Here's what MY pumpkin drink has that the other twos don't:

  1. 70+ super foods
  2. Antioxidants
  3. Perfect carb to protein ratio to keep me full
  4. The equivalent of 6 salads
  5. Daily dose of dense nutrition
  6. It's CONVENIENT! I make mine at home anytime of the day!
If you haven't tried Shakeology and want to give it a shot, let me know! I'd be happy to get you out a 5 or 7 day trial pack. I've got all 5 flavors sitting here waiting for you!!!

Ok - on to the amazing recipe :)

Ingredients:
  • 1 scoop/packet Vanilla Shakeology
  • 1/2 cup cold coffee
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/2 cup canned PUMPKIN (not the pumpkin pie mix)
  • 1 Tbsp coarsely chopped pecans or walnuts
  • 1 tsp pure maple syrup or honey
  • 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • ice to taste

Directions:
  1. Combine all ingredients in blender.
  2. Blend.
  3. Pour into cup.
  4. Try not to drink it all in one big gulp. Trust me. A massive ice cream headache will follow!

Feeling a little froggy with your shakeology? Throw in a square or two of Dark Chocolate. What person DOESN'T love some pumpkin, coffee, and chocolate in one???

Enjoy friends!

CLX/T25 Hybrid - Week 2

In deciding what program to workout to for the remainder of 2013, I decided to go back to my first Beachbody program, ChaLEAN Extreme. I LOVE this program. It makes me feel strong and powerful. Chalene teaches you to lift CORRECTLY. This is the program that I lost 43 pounds with last year at this time.

My one grip with CLX is that you do the SAME cardio workouts for the entire 90 days. It gets boring. I don't like boring. I also don't like working out any longer than 25 minutes. What can I say - T25 SPOILED ME!

So I made the decision to do a hybrid schedule of CLX and T25. It's not written out anywhere, I'm making it up as I go along. I am doing the CLX lifting videos on M/W/F, or 3 days a week, and T25 workouts on T/R/S, or 3 other days a week. Sometimes I throw in a rest day on a week day instead of on Sunday. Especially if this week :/

See, this week was a week of Mondays. I'm sure you know what I mean. If it could go wrong, it went wrong this week. Piper got sick on Sunday night. Hubs got sick on Monday. Wyatt got sick on Tuesday. Wyatt had to go to the doctor on Wednesday night and get a breathing treatment and steroids. Thursday brought Hubs' grandma going to the hospital.

See what I mean? It was a week of Mondays.

So, my workouts got a little messed up this week. I wasn't able to get up early (5am) to work out every day. I was busy taking care of sick kids and the hubs. I had to fit in my workouts later in the day, after I got home from my full time job. I hate doing that. In fact, I just took a complete rest day on Wednesday because I only got 2 hours of sleep Tuesday night.

Again, it's been a rough week.

However, I'm not gonna let that deter me. I got my workouts in on Mon, Tues and Thurs. Yesterday (Thursday) was interesting because I did it at 6 pm with my 15 month old in the room. At least I'm setting a good example - right? Positives people. I'm always looking for the positives in situations.

Piper and I had fun working out last night. In fact, she was trying to decide herself what program to do!

I did Burn Circuit 2 last night which just might be one of my all-time favorites. I LOVE working my back and biceps. I also LOVE doing dead lifts. I know. I'm strange. It's ok. Wanna see our workout from last night? Complete with exhausted "done" pic with the cutie pie pictured above??? Ok - twist my arm ;)

One of my favorite parts of this workout is the last set lifting. It's actually not lifting at all. It's push-ups. Triple Threat push-ups to be exact. First you do a tricep push-up, then a regular push-up, then a spider push-up. Repeat 4 times for a total of 12. I have YET to do all 12 on my knees. By the end of this workout my arms are EXHAUSTED! The only thing that saves me a little are my wonderful wrist straps. My forearms would be mush if I had to carry around 25 and 30 pound weights for extended periods of time!

So - that is my random rambling about my second week of my CLX/T25 hybrid. Tonight I am going to do T25 Ab Intervals and tomorrow is Burn Circuit 3. Sunday will most likely be Speed 1.0 from T25 but we'll see what kind of mood I'm in when the time comes!

AND - what kind of coach would I be if I didn't offer this great opportunity to you guys??? I have a new group starting preseason on Monday the 14th. I would LOVE to help you achieve your goals and dreams. Message me on FB or leave a comment here and, together, we will come up with a plan that works for YOU!

Enjoy your Friday friends!
